The Iraqi Children Foundation (ICF) is a U.S.-based, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit (U.S. Government EIN: 26-1394773). Our mission is to invest in Iraq’s orphans, child laborers, and displaced children. ICF is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonsectarian charity committed to Iraqi orphans and vulnerable children. Members of the Board of Directors include Iraqi-Americans and British-Iraqis, businesspeople, child welfare experts, and veterans. Our Vision

That all vulnerable children in Iraq have a voice, are heard, and are empowered to reach their full potential.

Our Promise

ICF pledges to protect each child’s inherent dignity and worth. ICF will love, respect, and serve the most vulnerable children of Iraq, regardless of ethnic or tribal background, gender, religious affiliation, or disability.

Our Mission

The Iraqi Children Foundation intervenes with love and hope in the lives of children who are vulnerable to abuse, neglect, and exploitation by criminals, traffickers, and extremists.

ICF invests in Iraqi children by:

  • Being a voice for children with no voice;

  • Mobilizing resources for education, health, protection, and trauma care, and helping to end child labor;

  • Emphasizing sustainable hand-up initiatives over hand-outs; and
    Investing in training and capacity building of Iraqis caring for children.

OUR IMPACT.

ICF Programs

All our programs are high-impact and life-changing. ICF aims to provide holistic support to vulnerable children through programs focusing on education, nutrition, legal support, psychosocial support, medical care, and a sense of belonging.

Our Core Values

Teamwork

ICF humbly recognizes that it is only in partnership with valued Iraqi and US partners that together we can achieve our goal. We pride ourselves on a diverse and talented team both in and outside of Iraq.

Working with our partners and ‘on the ground’ local teams, we will continue to do our very best to nurture the children of Iraq, their environment and communities.

We invest in training and capacity building of Iraqis caring for children.

Integrity

ICF is committed to both personal and corporate integrity in order to earn and keep the trust of donors and partners.

We recognize that our reputation is our biggest asset. We will take the upmost care in preserving this through all of our behaviours and actions as an organization.

We recognize the weight and seriousness in being a voice for children with no voice.

Transparency

ICF will demonstrate transparency and excellence in financial stewardship as well as in disclosure of project performance results. ICF will also take care to seek partners who demonstrate the same values and level of excellence.

We will be clear and honest in all communications and interactions with each other and our supporters.

Sustainability

While occasionally providing a hand-out for emergency humanitarian needs, ICF will emphasize sustained investment in projects that give a “hand up” to Iraq’s most vulnerable children by providing access to protection, education, health care and psychosocial support.

We will do our best to put in place long term solutions for the sake of the children and their futures in Iraq.

Non-partisanship

ICF is an independent, non-partisan, non-sectarian charity.

We do not directly or indirectly support any agenda other than that of providing protection, care and safety for the children of Iraq.

We will mobilize resources for education, health, protection, and trauma care without bias or prejudice.
